LGD 003: Surrender

Person with hands open and surrender

As we battle the uncertainty of our times, our mind begins to play tricks on us or so it seems.

Most the time, our thoughts support our natural happy go lucky personalites; however at a time I like this we can find ourselves pulling inward.

Person with hands open and surrender

Scripture provides us hope and a gentle reminder to surrender our thoughts and our lives over to Him.

It’s midweek, and we might be getting weary of school, work, and wondering why we can’t head outside on a beautiful day, and it starts to play on our minds.

Scripture says,

“…we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

2 Corinthians 10:5b

In those moments when Satan whispers in our ears falsehoods, roar back with this scripture and take captive your thoughts.

Place your thoughts, fears, doubts, insecurities, and unknowns at the foot of the cross.

Raise your hands in surrender and give it to God – He can handle it. He carried his cross, and He bore our sins.

Then He was raised from the grave on the third day so that we can have life, and have it abundantly. That doesn’t mean we won’t experience trials, but we have an assurance that this is not our home.

Today, take a few minutes, and surrender what is on your heart – your fears,, your paycheck, your job, your family or whatever else comes to mind.

Listen for His still small voice telling you He loves you, and He’s got this.

Prayer: Lord, my thoughts are all over the place. I find it hard to focus on the good stuff you are doing around me, but I ask that you help me to take every thought captive and make it obedient to you. Fill my mind with all the good that surrounds me, and open my eyes so that I may see it. Thank you for the cross. Thank you for your love. Amen
