In the Big Sky area of Montana, the summer months blend the night sky with the evening light creating a magical moment where the stars begin to shine brightly.
Growing up the city, we often lose touch with the creator’s majesty as it dances across the sky.
As I read today’s scripture,
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”James 1:17
I am reminded that God knows,
- How many hairs are on my head.
- How many grains of sand cover the earth.
- How many unborn children have graced the gates of heaven.
- How many stars are in the sky.
As I enjoyed the evening sky during that summer visit, I snapped the picture in this post.
One moment in a million moments that catches the streak left behind of a shooting star.
One heart reminded that God’s Got This. He created the heavens and the earth, I think He can get us through this global pandemic.
A year ago, I attended CatalystWest, a next-generation leadership conference. As I sat in my seat, Kayla Stoecklein – a mother of three boys and a widow, was introduced to the audience.
Her husband, a father, and a pastor committed suicide after a bout of depression and struggles with mental health. As she told her story, she kept coming back to the phrase, God’s Got This.
Let her words echo in your heart – God’s Got This! He will get you through this pandemic or trial you are facing.
When you need a reminder of how much God loves you, go outside lay on the grass and look up to see the heavenly lights that He has created for you.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the reminder that you’ve got this. You saw our situation before it ever was a situation. You spoke the world, the solar system, and the galaxies into existent. Give us a reminder of who you are today at the moment when we need it most. Thank you for giving us heavenly lights. Amen!
