LGD 019: Meeting Your Needs

As we progress through our quarantine, our needs have changed. The things we focused on weeks earlier take on a different perspective.

During this time, we have learned to surrender, lay down our worries, rest awhile, pray, and live a courageous life.

Would you have focused on these things if the virus had not forced you into a quarantine state?

Honestly, I do not think so.

Today, God continues to remind us of his promises. In Philippians he says,

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19

Paul shares in the first part of Philippians 4 of the grace, goodness and provision of resources he received from the church in Philippi. Even when he was in a different part of the region, they sustained him.

This verse is here to encourage each of us. The Lord sustained Paul through gifts which helped to meet his physical needs. More so, they sustained him emotionally and spiritually by staying connected to him while he was away.

Today, in our quarantine lives, we can become isolated from our communities. I encourage you to meet with people either via video conferencing or taking a walk with someone (social distancing of course).

Just as Paul was sustained from afar by a community of believers, we too can experience community and have our needs met as well.

Take time today to ask the Lord to meet your needs in a new way.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the beauty of a new day. Thank you for your sustainment and peace. Thank you for friendship and love from my family, friends and community. I ask that you would meet my needs today in a new way. Help me to recognize this provision, and thank you. You are so good to me. Amen!

I am the host of an ABF Lifegroup - a collection of folks doing community and life together. We are a ministry of Agoura Bible Fellowship. When I am not leading this group, I love to travel, take photographs, share stories, and design workspaces that matter.
