God is good! Amid our health crisis, God is on the throne, and He is glorified.

Hope seems to be fleeting as restrictions on our quarantine come and go; however, this could be the Church’s finest hour.

The message of the gospel is timeless, and it fills a void in people’s hearts especially turning tragic or tumultuous times.

As we look through this verse, we can see a parallel between the gospel written about here and the spread of the gospel today.

“As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.”

2 Thessalonians 3:1

Twice a month a friend and I do a prayer walk around our work campus. We take time to dive into each other’s lives, and as we close out our time we pray for the following:

  • Leadership of our work campus
  • Leadership of our respective organizations
  • Wisdom
  • Our teams
  • A hedge of protection on the campus

This week he was sharing with me about another member of his team coming to faith in Christ. Currently on his crew, he has four or five people that have recently given their lives to Christ.

God is at work in our neighborhoods, our communities, our places of work, the retail stores, our local food hangouts, and in our families. We have a message of hope in these troubled times.

As we have seen from the statistics over 500,000 people have accepted Christ during the COVID-19 tragedy. People seek answers when the bottom drops out for them, and we can guide them.

Today, spend a few minutes praying for our government leaders, our church leaders, our friends and our community. Ask God to open doors for conversations in the coming days and weeks so you can share the hope you have with others.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for meeting our needs during this health crisis. Thank you for drawing so many to you, who may not have heard because of our busyness. I ask you open my eyes and ears to see who needs hope around me, and to share a word or message with them. Continue to draw more people to you during this time, and use me to be an instrument of healing for those around me. Give us a blessed weekend. Amen!
