The power of prayer is a wonderful thing. When we are struggling, we can ask someone to come alongside us and to speak over us and into our lives.

Prayer binds us with our Heavenly Father. It gives us strength when we are weary, and it allows us to bring our requests to the Father.

During the Coronavirus, we have seen the power of prayer. We see protection over families and communities, and we see the power to heal. The prayer of the saints rings in our ears.

Today’s scriptures is a reminder that we are covered by the prayers of the saints.

“With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.”

2 Thessalonians 1:11

When I am weak, I cry out to God. I ask for His power and strength.

Craig Groeschel, lead pastor of Life.Church, has publicly shared that his church is giving away their church platform free of charge. He shares it is free for these churches, but it is not free for us. They believe it is their calling to serve churches this way.

We all have a calling on our lives as believers, and we need God’s power to act on our calling.

As believers lift us up, they pray,

“We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

2 Thessalonians 1:12

As you reflect on the words of these scripture passages, ask God to reveal His specific calling on your life for this specific time in history.

Today, live out your calling so the Lord may be glorified.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for calling me to you, to be your child. I ask that I would live in accordance with my calling. I pray you would put a hedge of protection around my friends, my family, my loved ones, my work, my colleagues, our church, and our government. I ask you to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine so that you would receive the glory that You are do. Help me to live out my calling today. Amen!

I am the host of an ABF Lifegroup - a collection of folks doing community and life together. We are a ministry of Agoura Bible Fellowship. When I am not leading this group, I love to travel, take photographs, share stories, and design workspaces that matter.
