LGD 033: Overflow

The world around us is shouting it’s need for love. As believers, we are grounded in what Jesus did on the cross – the ultimate act of love.

Today, the author shares,

“I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.”

Philippians 1:9

On the journey of life, love can be lost. The author implores us to let our love overflow. When we think of something overflowing, it can be a rushing river, a waterfall or when your coffee overflows your cup.

Love should overflow our hearts so we can pour into those around us. When we overflow love and compassion, it becomes contagious.

Again, the author does not stop at the overflowing of love, he commissions us to continue to grow in knowledge and understanding.

When we understand people or subjects better, it expands our capacity to help those in need.

Today, let your hearts overflow with love and spend time in God’s Word soaking up the richness of scripture. This is one way you can grow in your knowledge and understanding while hiding God’s Word in your hearts.

Prayer: Lord, thanks for showing us grace and mercy. Thank you for giving us the capacity to love each other, even during tough times. Expand our knowledge and understanding of who you are, so we can be a part of someone else’s faith story. Amen!
