Your body is tired and weak. For many years, you have been struggling with an illness that has no cure. Your doctors have no idea how to help you, and the medicine they prescribe just numbs your body.
As your senses and thoughts return to the present, a man comes running up to Him. You know Jesus. He says,
“My daughter has died, but you can bring her back to life.”Matthew 9:18
As the crowd, and Jesus, began to rise and head out you realize now is the time. You must talk with Jesus.
Moving closer and closer to Jesus, you reach out and touch the edge of His robe. You think, if I only touch his robe, I can be healed of this illness.
And then it happened…
“Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment.”Matthew 9:22
You throw your arms up, and thank Jesus for healing your illness. Only He has the power to heal.
I love this story. At a time when death has surrounded us for some time, and life begins to get back to some normal, I cannot help but think how awesome it would have been to see that healing take place.
Imagine the Savior of the world looking directly in your eyes and saying, “Be encouraged, your faith has made you well.”
Yippee. No more pain. No more suffering. You were restored – better than before.
As we go through our day, ask God to heal you. It can be physical, emotional, relational, or spiritual. Invite Him into the discussion. Share with Him your struggles.
He has the power to heal and to save. Let your heart be encouraged by the words Jesus said to this woman – “Be encouraged, your faith has made you well.”
Prayer: Lord, thank you for this story of love, compassion, and healing. Thank you for reminding us to slow down, and help someone. Today, we ask for you to reach down and heal us of whatever ails us. We invite you to say, “be encouraged, your faith has made you well.” Thank you for guiding us and healing us in accordance with your will and purpose. Amen!
