Jimmy Chin is one of my favorite photographers. His captivating style highlights the accomplishments of free climbers. In the movie, Free Solo, Jimmy hangs off the mountain for that epic shot.

Epic shots take hard work and perseverance. You have to place yourself in the right place, at the right time.

Just as climbers or photographers hone their craft, we, as believers, need to spend time in the Word of God building our knowledge strength.

Paul exhorts believers to stand firm in the teachings of scriptures. He says,

“With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter.”

2 Thessalonians 2:15

The message of the Gospel goes forth by each one of us. Whether you travel overseas or across the street, you have the opportunity to share your faith with those who are far from God.

As we dig into scriptures, we grow in the knowledge of the Word so we can help someone along their spiritual journey. We may not have all the answers, but we can guide them in the right direction.

Just as young believers, we were told to hide God’s Word in our heart, we can ask the Spirit to bring to mind those scriptures that you have been studying for such a time when you need it.

God uses imperfect people, like you and me, to help bring others to a saving knowledge of Christ. He is the only One who can change the heart of a person; however, He invites us to join Him in His work.

Today, hold fast to the teachings you have learned and be on the lookout for opportunities to engage with people in your sphere of influence.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for calling me into your family. Help me to hide Your Word in my heart. Please use me to help someone on their spiritual journey. Thank you for your blessings that are new each day. Amen!
