Do you ever have those days when nothing goes right? It seems like this week has been one setback after another. It is during these tough times that I need to remind myself that God is in control.

Today, we take a step back and live with our arms outstretched, and sink into the heavenly Father’s arms.

When we least feel like shouting for joy is when we need to do it most.

“Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.”

Psalms 100:1-2

Our hearts were made to praise our Father in heaven. Worship is both an internal and an external act. As we truly worship, the outpouring of our soul is seen on our faces and with the words that flow from our mouths.

“Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.”

Psalms 100:3

Wrapped in verse three are the comforting words from the psalmist. He is our shepherd, and we are his sheep. If we are lost, He will find us.

When we are hurting, He comforts us. As we walk through valleys, He walks beside us to guide and strengthen us.

He knows every hair on your head because He made you, and we can shout for joy as we rest in this blessed assurance.

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”

Psalms 100:4

As we worship, we give thanks and praise for who God is, not just for what He has done. We are grateful for His love, grace, mercy, and compassion.

The psalmist concludes by saying,

“For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

Psalms 100:5

His words are everlasting, and He did not stop providing for His people at the end of the Old Testament but provided a way for us through His Son – Jesus Christ.

The Lord measures are days, and some live long enough to see the passing of God’s faithfulness from generation to generation. Others, they see His faithfulness in their current generation.

Regardless of the days, we are on earth, His faithfulness existed before my generation and will continue on for generations to come. He is timeless, and that is why we praise and shout for joy.

He is the same yesterday, today, and forever – Amen!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for showing up time and time again, especially when I need it most. I praise you for who you are, and I thank you for what you accomplish in my generation. Thank you for being my shepherd. Amen!
