Yesterday, we kicked off a three-part series titled East From West based in Psalms 103. Today, we explore God’s love for us.

It is hard for us to comprehend the height and depth of God’s love for us, but His love is unmatched.
He sent His Son to die for us all, so we would not live apart from Him.
David says,
“he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.”
Psalms 103:10
When someone wrongs us, we often hold grudges against that person. God, on the other hand, forgives and forgets. Humankind repays what we think we deserve.
God shows us grace and does not treat us as we ought to be treated. If we repaid others with grace instead of unkindness, our world would be a better place.
David continues,
“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him”
Psalms 103:11
We think we understand the height and depth of God’s love for us, but it is impossible for us to truly understand.
How high is heaven from the earth?
We look at space and think that’s pretty far, God must love me that much. In reality, we do not know the edges of the galaxy or solar system we occupy.
The Hubble Telescope beams back images as far as it can see, and still, there is far more to the galaxy. God’s love extends beyond what we can even imagine.
As believers, we have a healthy fear of the Lord – an awe-inspiring fear – not that we are scared of Him. God’s love is great and worthy to be praised.
Tonight, look up into the sky and thank the Lord for His love as see the wonders He has created.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your love and forgiveness. Thank you for the grace you extend to me when I fall short. Thank you for creating the heavens and the earth and all that is in it. Amen!
Humbling and beautiful is our Lord’s love for us.
Ephesians 3:17-19
So true…and so reassuring when we need it most.
