Today we conclude our three-part series in Psalms 103 exploring East from West. God’s love extends beyond our comprehension, and so does His forgiveness.
Can you see the edge of the world?
Our minds understand the earth is round because of the pictures from space showing its design. When we view the edge of the world, we are restricted by what are minds determine as finite.
In reality, the edge of the world is infinite since it is circular.
“as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”Psalms 103:12
Just as we comprehend the circular nature of the world, we understand that God blots our sins. He says as far as the east is from the west.
At what point does the east become the west or west become the east?
God didn’t say, I will only slightly remove your transgressions. No, He removed them so far we cannot comprehend the beginning from the end.
We do not sin so that grace can abound. We strive for perfection as our Father in Heaven is perfect, realizing we can never achieve it. However, there is an assurance that God has forgiven and forgotten.
“As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him”Psalms 103:13
Why does God forgive?
It’s because He has compassion for His children. If you are a parent, you have compassion for your children because you want the best for them.
You guide and direct them through life, no matter how old they get. God cares deeply about our relationship with Him, and He extends his love, grace, and forgiveness to His children.
Today, take a few minutes to appreciate the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross so we can live.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the gift of the Savior so that I may live. Thank you for removing my sins beyond what I can imagine. Help me to live fully alive in You today. Amen!
