Our 2020 Virtual Mexico Missions trip is entering day two, and you don’t want to blink. If you do, you may miss a few surprises in the build.
As we continue with the build, Nathan Alpert (YUGO President) shares a verse from Psalms that lays the foundation for the mission of building homes and changing communities for Christ.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.'”Psalms 127:1a
Every home built in Mexico with YUGO is a labor of love. Groups take an ordinary slab and turn it into a masterpiece in a few short days.
Each day, the team assembles on the worksite, circles up around the home, and prays a blessing on the home.
The foundation of a home is vital to it withstanding the storms of life that will inevitably come our way. Written on the walls of most homes in Mexico built by YUGO contain verses, encouragement, and prayers for the family.
These prayers are then boarded up with drywall encased forever as a symbol of Christ’s love and grace for the family who inhabits the home.
As we celebrate what God is doing in Mexico, yesterday, as I sat in a dental chair, I listened to the story of another marriage that is dissolving.
The foundation of a home or marriage must be built on the Lord. We are co-laborers with our brothers and sisters in Mexico, and we pray a blessing of God’s provision over Pastor Ray and his family.
Grace is receiving what we don’t deserve. Every homeowner that receives a home built with love is receiving grace.
Today, say a prayer of blessing over Pastor Ray and his family, the workers who labor on our behalf and ask God to use this pastor to change his community for Christ in the coming year.
Prayer: Lord, we lift Pastor Ray and his family to you and ask you to use them to change their community for You. Use this home to bring many people to you and to encourage our brothers and sisters in their faith. The workers are few, but they do not labor in vain. Bless each worker as they labor for You. Amen!
