The world is a bit maddening right now, and if we are not careful we can let fear creep into our hearts and minds.

The uncertainty of our upcoming election has millions of people on edge, and I have been struck by the number of families no longer speaking because of the election.
As I read through Andy Stanley’s new book, Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets, he cautioned us that we should guard our relationships above all else.
The scary thing is you can’t get that time back, and God forbid, what if something happens and you never get to say your sorry or that you love them.
God does not want us to be fearful as we head into this upcoming week. God came for everyone – He desires that no one should perish.
When you feel like fear is rising in you, let Isaiah’s words bring you peace.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
Here is the exciting thing – God sees what is coming. He will not be surprised by anything that happens this week.
Our role as believers is to pray for God’s will and our leaders.
When you feel the fear rise within you, cry out to God, and ask Him to give you strength. As Isaiah writes – he will be with you and uphold you.
God’s strength is what we need when we don’t know what to ask for. God is with you each day.
Today, take a few minutes to pray for our upcoming election and our leaders.
Prayer: Lord, please give me strength today. Please help me not to be fearful. We ask you to guide us through each day and give our cares and worries to you. Thanks for being our rock and our salvation. Amen!
