Grace, elegance, strength, and discipline – these are the qualities that define a fantastic dancer.

I love watching So You Think You Can Dance. I am fascinated by the movements of the dancers who have honed their craft. They take ordinary movements and make them extraordinary.

A couple of years ago, I was flying home from the Chicago area when my seatmate joined me – it was Napolean, one half of the dynamic choreography team NappyTabs.

After my jaw hit the floor, we had a pleasant conversation, and I had the chance to share how much I appreciated the dance pieces he and his wife choreographed.

Today’s passage in Psalms describes the strength of the Lord and how He blesses His people.

King David says,

“The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.”

Psalms 29:11

This verse closes the chapter after we read the strength and power of the Lord’s voice. The Lord’s voice has whispered to us.

And, His voice gives a command performance when He speaks the heavens and earth into existence.

God’s voice is powerful – He gives us strength – simply by speaking to us. He wants us to know that He has not forgotten us.

In a world filled with anxiety and stress, the Lord gives us what we need the most. Peace.

You may not feel the peace that He gives us, but I assure you He gives us peace when we need it most.

Today, I pray you will hear the sweet sounds of your Savior while embracing the power and majesty of WHO He is.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for blessing us with peace, especially when we need it most. Please grant us a beautiful day filled with all the blessings you have given to us. Amen!
