LGD 132: God’s Faithfulness

The days have not gotten shorter, and when it starts getting dark, I am ready to head to dreamland.

As a contrast, each new morning brings a reset, if you will, to the previous day’s events.

Some days you want the day never to end, but most days this year, you want them to whiz by like the speed of light.

God has always been – He has no beginning and no end. Each day, we have the opportunity to appreciate a new beginning.

The author of Lamentations says,

“They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Lamentations 3:23

During my youth, I always found comfort in the famous hymn Great Is Thy Faithfulness.

The lyrics are comforting – “morning by morning, new mercies I see – all I have needed thy hand hath provided.”

When we face tough days, weeks, or even months – we can rest assured that God is faithful. His mercies are new every morning.

It’s in the sunrise and the sunset. It’s in a baby’s smile or the touch of a loved one.

It’s in the words we say (or don’t say). God is faithful.

Today, rest in the assurance that God is faithful.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the sunrises and the sunsets. Thank you for your grace, mercy, and faithfulness. Give us a wonderful day. Amen!

I am the host of an ABF Lifegroup - a collection of folks doing community and life together. We are a ministry of Agoura Bible Fellowship. When I am not leading this group, I love to travel, take photographs, share stories, and design workspaces that matter.
